May 4, 2006, Rep. Patrick Kennedy:

Kennedy 'declared to [police] he was a Congressman and was late to a vote'

'I consumed no alcohol prior to the incident.'

'I will fully cooperate with the Capitol Police in whatever investigation they choose to undertake.'

Kennedy put out a second statement saying he had taken sleep medication and a prescription anti-nausea drug that can cause drowsiness.

'Apparently I was disoriented from the medication...'

'At no time did I ask for any special consideration...'

The last vote was three hours earlier - he was really late for the vote!

Is there any evidence he had any alcohol? NOPE

Any evidence to the contrary?

He should have simply said he was choking on a pretzel. The press bought it readily from that other guy...

Just people in the bar watching him drinking, serving him booze.

Shouldn't he plead guilty to DUI like you Liberals wanted Rush to do to the 'doctor shopping' nonsense?

'Bill Bonde ('The path is clear, though no eyes can see''

Really - and who claimed that? Oh, that's right, an 'un-named person' - now that's quality evidence!

If he was DUI he should be charged. He wasn't DUI, he wasn't charged, probably wasn't tested because he was wealthy - are you really surprised and shocked when rich guys play by different rules than the rest of America?

'Apparently I was disoriented from the medication...'

Sounds like he just admitted to the DUI right there...you DO realize that the 'I' in DUI stand for 'Influence', right? And 'Influence' is not just limted to alcohol. And he was admittedly under the influence of his medication. That's a no-no.

Sounds like he got preferential treatment to me. Everyother Red Blooded American would have to submit to a sobriety test.

Of course, we know that the Kennedy clan has absolutely no history of
