The Ultimate Question

Reading Andrew Sullivan’s blog today I realized that he has articulated the ultimate question that most American are going to ask themselves and decide on, if they haven’t already.

The question then becomes: is Obama more capable of adjusting to toughness or is McCain more capable of adjusting to nuance?

Remembering that most Americans are not sworn Democrats or sworn Republican the question of the characters of the candidates becomes extremely important. Would Obama be able to cope with Iran who doesn’t really want to talk to him, would he be able to realize if his attempts to create communication would be used solely for the goal of showing how important they are.

I am a little nervous as to Obama’s ability to play in the field of the international politics without being run over by the bullies of our world but I do share Sullivan’s belief that he can learn and be though when he has to.

Will the American people share this belief this is the major question for the elections now that it is Obama vs. McCain.
