A bipartisan group of legislators including Democrat Roger Bruce and Republican John Lunsford introduced a bill called the “Parent Protection Act.”
The Parent Protection Act is a bi-partisan bill that would provide up to 24 hours of unpaid, job-protected leave per year to attend a child’s school conferences, or; for the employee’s own medical appointments, or to take a child, parent or spouse to medical appointments.
According to Andre from the Georgia Politics Unfiltered-blog:
State Rep. Roger Bruce has pre-filed the Parent Protection Act for the upcoming 2009 legislative session. Hopefully, the legislation will be met with more favorable consideration this time around.
