The Class Card The Winning Card For The Party?

polls results

SurveyUSA latest results show that as for early June Obama leads over McCain nationwide and this means that the Democratic Party is starting the race against the Republicans in a relatively favorable position.

Sure surveys are not very reliables and even if they were the results can differ from month to month and it is important at this stage in the race that we try to define who are the voters that we target.

RightDemocrat brought a quote from an article saying that the us vs. them of this elections should be the class and not the race card.

A lot have been said about the migration of the working and middle class Americans away from the party in the previous years and I strongly feel that the Democratic Party should do all it can to be once again a political  home for them. It is not going to be easy as many of them felt neglected or disillusioned in the past and gaining the trust of someone that experienced disappointment is never easy. But the main point that I want to make here is that many of these Americans would trust Obama whatever card he will or won’t play.

The duality of us vs. them is not really something that we have to strengthen necessarily. I feel that going to the grassroots is the way to go and it would naturally take the needs and the desires of the working middle class American into account on a much deeper level than a campaign slogan.
