Not even the Israelis believed that Saddam/Iraq was a threat to their security. Iran is a far larger, and Syria a smaller, threat to Israeli security than a de-fanged (or even fanged) Saddam ever was.

No, the sole purpose of going into Iraq was to control the geopolitical dynamics of crude petroleum markets.

The taming of

America loves to betray its friends and allies. Look at the poor Shah. He actually thought the United States was going to help him retain power.
