We watched Iranian president Ahmadinejad on CBS' '60 Minutes' last Sunday. He has an engineering PhD and ran circles around interviewer Mike Wallace.
It's obvious that Iran's president is much, much smarter than AmeriKKKa's presiDunce.

What's obvious is that Mike Wallace tossed out softballs and allowed Ahmadinejad to knock them out of the park. A better opportunity for PR couldn't have been purchased.
'You'll find him an interesting man,' he (Wallace) said. 'I expected more of a firebrand. I don't think he has the slightest doubt about how he feels ... about the American administration and the Zionist state. He comes across as more rational than I had expected.'
Some of his 'rational' statements: 'Although the main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime, at this stage an immediate cease-fire must be implemented,' 'We are in the process of an historical war between the World of Arrogance [i.e., the West] and the Islamic world.' He also stated that 'a world without America and Zionism' is 'attainable.'
Good work, Mike. That's the kind of hard hitting journalism that will lay to rest any accusations of media bias.

Any kid worth his salt can be an engineer. Because he is an engineer evidently hasn't given him any wisdom or respect for anyone to live. He is merely another clone of Islam's murder cult who has reached his potential and may lead to the entire destruction of Iran and the Middle

I watched Wallace's 'interview'. Ahmadinejad was arrogant, self-righteous, anti-semitic, anti-American and generally despicable. Wallace was embarrassing. He should have ended this one-sided farce, as Ahmadinejad openly challenged him to do, and not aired it. There was nothing to learn from it as it was not newsworthy.
The fact that you feel that this display demonstrated that Ahmadinejad was smarter than Bush speaks not well of you. Few would take the position that Bush is a particularly bright man, but this travesty of an interview had no relationship to whether Ahmadinejad was smarter than Bush or not.

I suppose certain types think bias exists when two sides are heard. These people are almost always Fox News viewers.
Some us think it's bias when the pro war side dominates every news network in the country.

Personally, I'd rather listen to our government and the media lie to us about WMD, Whitewater and all the other things that keep us distracted than listen to an opposing point of view.
All knowledge comes from asking questions but some us neither want the question asked nor the question answered. Knowledge is dangerous to their way of life.
You don't want to know why he hates us? Even if you're pro war you must know the words 'know thine enemy.'

Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot this
When I watch a journalistic interview, I expect the questions the interviewer is asking to be answered and I would like them to be. So I do want to know.
What I don't need is to listen to a diatribe of someones's political party line and witness a circumventing of the hard questions. If an interviewee wants to control the interview, they should fund their own program.
Ahmadinejad already has Al-Jazeera news to provide a platform for his extremist point of view and policies. Wallace didn't need to allow himself to be used to that end. I learned nothing new from that interview. Neither did you.

Did every news source in the country lie to us about Whitewater, WMD, tax cuts, war and peace? Was there one news source that had the integrity to tell us the truth - the truth being that the UN inspectors couldn't verify a single word of Bush's intelligence and there were no facts to justify war?
Look at it this way. If the government owned and controlled the entire media prior to War in Iraq, how would it have been different?

What a stupid thing to say. You obviously don't know anything about the network. Politicians always ignore the questions. It's why Bush was popular so long. He was never held accountable for his failings and out right lies.
You didn't specify which questions you wanted answered. Ahmadinejad says he called for a ceasefire the first day. The US waited and waited and waited and waited - until Israel reached its military goal. In my opinion Ahmadinejad has the moral high ground on that issue.
Here's a nice quote. Now imagine Bush saying it.
'The problem that President Bush has is in his mind he wants to solve everything with bombs. The time of the bomb is in the past. It's behind us. Today is the era of thoughts, dialogue and cultural exchanges.'
I'd like someone to answer his question:
'Well, if an atrocity was committed in Germany or Europe for that matter, why should the Palestinians answer for this?' the president asked. 'They had no role to play in this. Why on the pretext of the Holocaust they have occupied Palestine?'
I learned a lot from the interview. So did you. You're just not willing to admit it.
