I heard a radio comment while driving recently that said that democrats over 55 may bolt the party because they no longer like the idea of being taken for granted by liberals who have more or less taken over the party as if it were a coup. No, it wasn't talk radio but a newsreading that didn't sink in till later. Anybody seen or heard anything about it?

Wishful thinking by Republicans. No liberal who is also a Democrat would ever just up and switch to the Republican party. They wouldn't be able to face themselves in a mirror the next morning.

I see 4 groups here. A liberal faction in the democrats and a larger group of main stream democrats. A conservative faction in the republican party among mostly moderate republicans. It would appear that liberals have control of their party while moderates in the republican party have control of theirs. I could easily see a split happening in either party in today;s
