Just broke on the TeeVee...multiply that by 365 days...

And they can't afford that 'Bridge To Nowhere'?

Ah, you've picked up a buzz phrase.

If it's a matter of opinion whether your nearest airport is 'nowhere', perhaps you would not object to whatever thoroughfare connects you to YOUR airport. We can arbitrarily designate it as 'nowhere', can we not?

You obviously have no clue as to what he's referring to.

The proposed bridge doesn't come close to connecting to an airport.

It's a narrow stretch of water. There's a ferry service (which will now be put out of business) with plenty of capacity to handle the sixty or so people a day who needed to cross.
